Word of mouth is the most influential form of brand awareness and credibility, with people far more likely to trust the recommendations of someone they know over impersonal advertising.

Factors such as customer experience, brand image, brand values, emotion and consumer personality play a pivotal role in determining whether someone is likely to recommend your brand or not.

YouGov Recommend Rankings 2021 Australia

In Australia, the most recommended brand was Toyota, with an average score of 87.7. The second spot was taken by Jack Daniels with a score of 86.5. In third and fourth position were La Roche Posay and Singapore Airlines with an average score of 85.7 and 84.1 respectively. Asahi came in fifth, rounding out the top five with 83.3.

Top Improvers in the YouGov Recommend Rankings 2021 Australia

Medibank came up on top in the most improved recommended brand list, with a rise of +9.6 points, ahead of AAMI (up +7.9 points) and AMP (which has improved by +7.3 points). The fourth and fifth position were Dairylea (+7.2 points) and Allianz (+6.9 points).
